What we are agreeing to.

One page, plain English, no small print. If anything here is unclear, ask me before we start rather than afterwards.

What you get

A multi-page website built for your business, the domain name registered in your name and paid for the first year, and hosting. Set up so Google can read it properly, built to work on a phone, with a contact form that reaches your inbox.

What it costs

£200 in total. A £50 deposit books your slot once we have agreed the plan. The remaining £150 is due when the site is live and you are happy with it. Bank transfer or card. You get an invoice either way.

The deposit pays for the planning time and is not refundable once the plan is agreed and work has started.

After the first twelve months the domain renews at whatever the registrar charges, usually £10–£15 a year, paid by you directly to them rather than to me. Hosting stays on Cloudflare's free plan, so there is no hosting bill. There is no contract, no retainer and nothing to cancel.

The plan

Before I build anything we agree a written plan: the pages, what goes on each one, and the look we are aiming for, based on the example sites you showed me. That plan is what the £200 covers.

Changes while we are building it

Changes within the plan are included – wording, photos, colours, layout tweaks. Anything outside it, such as extra pages or a change of direction that means starting again, is not. If you ask for something like that I will tell you, and we will agree a price before I carry on.

Changes after it is live

Small things – a new phone number, a price, another photo – just ask and I will sort them. Anything substantial, like a whole new section, I will quote first and it will be reasonable.

How long it takes

Three working days to build, counted from when the plan is agreed and I have what I need from you – your details, your photos and answers to my questions – not from the first phone call. If something in the job means it will take longer, I will tell you at the start rather than letting the date slide.

What I need from you

Your details, your photos if you have them, and answers to my questions. The slow part of every job is waiting on those. If I do not hear from you for three months I will assume the job is dormant and stop chasing.

Who owns what

You do. The domain is registered in your name. The files are yours. If you want to move the site somewhere else, or have somebody else work on it, you can, and I will hand over everything needed without argument. I keep the right to show the finished site as an example of my work, which is what the work page on this site is – tell me if you would rather I did not and I will leave you off it.

What is not included

Writing your business's entire content from nothing if you cannot tell me what you do. Ongoing SEO campaigns. Paid advertising. Logo design. Photography. Anything requiring an ongoing subscription I would have to pay for on your behalf. If you want any of it, ask and I will either quote or point you at someone better.

If it goes wrong

If I cannot build something you are happy with, you do not pay the remaining £150. If a problem is caused by something I built, I will fix it at no charge. What I cannot be responsible for is your business's own outcomes – I cannot promise a particular position on Google, a number of enquiries, or a level of sales, and you should be wary of anybody who does.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
